Nature Club (NISARGA)

The nature club functions as a dedicated service programme to create awareness among students, faculty and staff about nature and related issues. The main aim of this club is to make our campus plastic free and make our campus clean and green. It also promotes environmental education among students. And it aims at inculcate environment friendly habits among students.

Literary Club (WORDSMITHS)

The aim of the club is to inculcate among students a love for language and enhance their literary skills. The club will provide a platform for:

Debating: – To encourage students become orators to display their intellectual and independent thinking skills and imbibe a sense of confidence. Speech and Drama: – To promote communication skills of students and help in team work, ability to speak and emote before an audience thereby increasing the emotional quotient of the students.

Journalism: – To promote the ability to organize and analyse the available resources and adopt technological advancements to present ideas, creativity and artistically.

Debate Club

The debate club of the college is an open platform for the students to express their opinions, attitudes and views on socially relevant issues. It also helps them to develop their communicative skills, self-confidence and leadership qualities and to enhance their potential in public speaking. It enables the students to reduce their stage fear and also improve their speaking skills through which they can be more aware of current affairs. The club organizes so many debates on various topics on which students will be having opposite views. The main aim behind conducting such debates is to enhance their skills in healthy argument and communication and to make them aware of how to use the skills in real life situations. Through these programmes students will become more aware of the importance of having independent perspective.

Food Safety Club

Food safety club, under department of Food Technology works to aware and promote the need of food safety, quality, food security thereby promoting personal and community health. This clubs a great platform for students to learn about food safety management system. The club aims to develop an awareness among all students about the importance of food safety and impacts of unsafe foods on health and lifestyle diseases. It also encourages students to express their ideas about food safety management systems in our country. Club in charge Ms. OM Shafna Assistant Professor in Department of Food Technology.

Arts Club

The motto of the  Arts Club is to inspire and enable our students to actively learn and develop their talent and skills that will develop artistic expression. A campus poised on sheer scientific thrills requires a balancing dose of art so that aesthetics and beauty around us are not forgotten. Having an art club is a great way to keep students involved throughout the year. With limited time in the classroom, art clubs can serve as a nice supplement for those students who can’t get enough art.  Arts club also allows one with the opportunity and freedom to experiment in different art forms.

Objective of the arts Club

  • The main objective of the arts club is to encourage the students in various activities.
  • To help the students develop their leadership abilities.
  • To improve the imagination skill in entertainment.

Audio-visual Club (AUDISHACK)

The Audio Visual club is an enthusiastically working team which provides a platform for students to learn and explore the world of movies, photography, advertising, news, documentaries, short films etc. All students from the Functional English department are members of the club.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To equip students with the necessary skills to become smart journalists.
  • To impart skills of using cameras and other tools.
  • To instill qualities required for editing and creative writing.
  • To use digital tools to make teaching-learning more interesting.
  • To attract and retain the learner’s attention by integrating technology into the classroom.

Health And Fitness Club

The goal of  forming Health and fitness club in Colleges  is to create awareness about health status and health related issues among female and male students, faculties and staff members .To accord high priority to physical and mental  fitness .To provide counselling for the different health issues of the students and facilities by the team of Doctors. The objectives of the health and fitness club is to develop advocacy strategies on adolescent health and wellbeing and to empower the students to be agents of change under the supervision of the program coordinator , to discuss needs and  plan strategic actions to empower the students respecting the regional aspects and maintaining Health.

 

 ED CLUB

The Entrepreneurship Development club of our college is functioning with an objective to inculcate Entrepreneurial culture amongst our students and equip them with the skills, techniques and confidence to acquire entrepreneurship qualities and to sensitize industrial scenario of the state. The ED club promotes Entrepreneurial traits among students and tries to build a culture of self-independence through Entrepreneurship. The ED club our college provides a platform for realizing business opportunities by arranging industrial visits, initiating interaction with successful entrepreneurs and organizing skill development classes to our students.

Minority Cell

The aim of the minority cell is to empower the minority communities in the college and assist them in their curricular, co – curricular and extra – curricular activities. The cell has been set up to help minority students to achieve holistic development.

OBJECTIVES

  • To ensure provisions for an environment where all such students feel safe and secure
  • To facilitate financial support to students from minority communities from governmental agencies and other sources
  • To be aware of the minority students regarding various scholarships programme of state and central government
  • To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the constitution of India
  • To encourage enrolling in career orientation programme that would empower and equip them with necessary skills to choose career options
  • To provided prompt counselling for any emotional emergenccies arising on account of any event on the college campus

 

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • To functions as a Grievances Redressal cell for the grievances of minority student to render them necessary help in solving academic as well as administrative problems
  • To arrange special opportunities to enhance the carrier growth of these students
  • To conduct the programme for disseminating the scholarship schemes provided by governmental agencies and other sources

Anti-ragging Cell

The Anti-Ragging cell of our college has been constituted as per the UGC guidelines and government instructions, to handle the cases of ragging spotted inside the campus and to take strict actions against ragging activities and the activities interpreted as ragging. The Anti-Ragging Cell should be one of the important parts of the Educational Institution’s mechanism. As per the guidelines of UGC under the Act of 1956, which is modified as UGC regulations on curbing the menace of Ragging in higher Educational Institutions, 2009, establishment of Anti-Ragging Cell is very compulsory. In conformity with the Supreme Court judgements, directions and UGC guideline our college has ‘Zero- tolerance policy’ towards ragging

Placement Cell

Placement cell of MES College is a professional body working towards maximising student’s welfare. The team consists of a student body of individuals effortlessly working under a dedicated body of teachers to nurture and prepare students for their future career and bring success and reputes the institution. The cell communicates through both online and offline modes, and caters all students of the college.

Placement cell acts as an interface between the students and recruiters and is responsible for placement of Alumni members, Final Year students, providing internship opportunities and grooming the students of all batches. The cell also conducts various Training programs, Workshops, Seminars, and Webinars by industry experts, and regularly takes up various initiatives to develop student’s skills and impart knowledge and awareness in multiple areas.

Women’s Cell

Women cell of MES college is a professional body working towards maximizing women empowerment and orienting women students to recognize their true potential and to help them attain their own stand in the new world. The team consists of a student body of individuals pleasantly working under a dedicated body of teachers to enhance the self-esteem and self-confidence among women students.

The Cell communicates through both online and offline modes. The Cell aims to empower girl students and faculty, enhance their understanding of issues related to women and to make college campus safe place for girls.

The Cell organises special lectures, workshops, webinars by lawyers, successful women entrepreneurs , experts and regularly takes up various initiatives to develop their confidence, to foster decision making skills, to enhance the skill of self-employment , etc..

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

The Internal Complaint Committee has been formed to address the issues under prevention, prohibition, and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of women employees and students in the campus and for the prevention and redressal of complaints of Sexual Harassment and for matters connected Therewith or incidental thereto. ICC meets on a need basis to address any complaints from students, teaching and nonteaching members and takes necessary action. The College has a zero-tolerance policy towards any such transgression

The college is committed to providing a safe and conducive work and academic environment to students and its employees and is extremely alert to matters pertaining to any kind of harassment and gender sensitivity. Cell provides safe workplace and develops a policy against sexual harassment for women and also ensures the implementation of the policy in letter and spirit through proper reporting of the complaints and their follow-up procedures. Committee promote a social and psychological environment to raise awareness on sexual harassment in its various forms thereby create a secure physical and social environment to deter any act of sexual harassment. It evolve a permanent mechanism for the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment cases and other acts of gender based violence at college.

Anti- Narcotic Cell

The main goal of Anti-Narcotic Cell is to enhance the students’ awareness and understanding of the harmful social and health effects of illicit drug use. The goal of the cell is to create a healthier community through coordinated efforts to prevent use, production and the distribution of illicit drugs. The Anti-Narcotic Cell organizes seminars, poster campaigns and rallies in order to spread awareness against the use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs. We keep close contact with the excise and police departments and arrange programs to make the students aware of the strong legal force working against narcotics and inculcate respect towards parents, teachers and the Indian judiciary.

Grievance Redressal Cell

The Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) aims to look into the complaints lodged by any student and redress it as per requirement. It redresses the grievances at individual and class level and grievances of common interest. The students can state their grievance regarding any academic and non- academic matter within the campus through the grievance/ suggestion box. The institution aims at solving the grievances of the students within stipulated time. The Student’s Grievance Cell desires to promote and maintain a conducive and unprejudiced educational environment.

The Grievance Redressal Cell has been developed to settle the grievances of the students and other stakeholders within a reasonable time period for further strengthening the bond of the students with the institution by providing them with all kind of facilities to a satisfaction level for maintaining a convenient ambience of academic teaching and learning. The Cell enables a student to express feelings by initiating and pursuing the grievance procedure in accordance with the rules and regulations of the College. ‘Student’s Grievance Cell’ inquires and analyses the nature and pattern of the grievances in a strictly confidential manner. Emphasis on procedural fairness has been given with a view to “the right to be heard and right to be treated without bias”.

ARIIA

Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) is an initiative of Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India to systematically rank all major higher educational institutions and universities in India on indicators related to “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development” amongst students and faculties.

IIC

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) program is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) through MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC) in collaboration with AICTE for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to systematically foster the culture of innovation and start-up ecosystem in education institutions.

IICs’ role is to engage large number of faculty, students and staff in various innovation and entrepreneurship related activities such as ideation, Problem solving, Proof of Concept development, Design Thinking, IPR, project handling and management at Pre-incubation/Incubation stage, etc., so that innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem gets established and stabilized in HEIs.

The IIC model is designed to address the existing challenges/issues in HEIs such as less numbers, occasional and unplanned Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) activities organised in HEIs with low involvement of top leadership, lack of coherence and absence of synergy in resource mobilization, deployment and underutilization of creative potential of youths as major barrier for vibrant I&E ecosystem to emerge from HEIs.

VIJAYA VEEDHI

Vijayaveedhi is a popular project in Kerala which is part of the state government’s 100 day action plan and is being implemented at the panchayat level as per government of Kerala order. Kerala state rutronix being a reputed government-controlled training institution can effectively involve in the training programme utilising its rich experience in conducting various computer and IT based programmes throughout the state. Rutronix will able to provide the training programme all over the state in a uniform and structured manner affordable to the common public. This may give an opportunity to all unemployed youth to compete in the competitive examinations. In this context, a training programme, named- “Vijayaveedhi” has been designed by Rutronix for imparting training to the employment seekers for attending various competitive examinations for the recruitments conducted by KPSC, UPSC, Staff Selection Commission, Banking Service Recruitment Boards, Railway Recruitment Board, various Governmental and Public sector agencies, bodies etc.
