BSC Food Technology

Programme Objectives

  • To create passion in Food processing and an awareness about nutritional value of each Food and awaken their minds about the impact of food on health.
  • Students can understand the concepts of food safety and quality management. Students can understand the fundamentals of food sampling, food adulteration and packaging technology
  • The programme aims at giving exposure and in-depth familiarity with diverse aspects of food processing, food engineering, food microbiology, preservation and packaging technology, food safety, food Chemistry and analytical instrumentation etc.
  • Aims at giving practical knowledge on laboratory tests and handling of instruments in Food industries.

By successfully completing the programme, learners are expected to develop:

  • Build up a strong base in Food science & Technology by providing knowledge in food composition, food quality assessment and nutritional facts in different foods.
  • Will acquire knowledge in fundamentals of Food Engineering.
  • Students get an exposure to various baking technologies.
  • Experience in Food processing, sensory evaluation.
  • Will be aware about the concept and need of food safety and quality management.
  • Practical skill in laboratory tests and instrumentation.
