Department Profile

The Department of English, started 2012, was upgraded as Post- Graduate Department in 2022. The department offers UG programme in BA Functional English and PG programme in MA English Language and Literature.
The programme aims at equipping the learners linguistically competent to meet their personal, professional and academic needs in English at global standards. The department has consistently organized many creative and academic activities to give the students enough exposure and extensive practice in many aspects of learning, communication and life skills. Regular visits to Newspaper bureaus and Media broadcasting centres to learn the practical side of mass media, translating Malayalam works of reputed writers to English, publishing full-fledged English newspaper and print Magazine, arranging talks of academics at national and international level and interactive session with great scholars and conducting regular inter departmental contests make the list pretty long.
